They are way tighter than any ones I've worn before. Maybe this is because they're not broken in, but my toes hit the end when my heel's at the back. Are they supposed to be this tight? I order 1/2 size over my normal shoe size. Where can I get shoes over a size 48?

A: It sounds like they're too tight. One thing to keep in mind is that on longer rides (especially when it's hot) your feet will actually swell up
and make the shoes even tighter. The correct size has a lot to do with the brand. I've always worn Specialized because they feel comfortable
right out of the box, no break in time required. I'd suggest taking them
back and getting the correct size.

According to three-time XTERRA world champion and former Olympic triathlete Conrad Stoltz, racing is "in his blood."

The events of this year, however, weighed heavily in the mind of the veteran triathlete heading into the grueling 1.5-kilometer swim, 30-kilometer mountain bike ride and 10k trail run that comprised XTERRA USA Championship Triathlon at Snowbasin Resort on Saturday.

Still, as Stoltz slapped his bike on the rack, stripped off his helmet and efficiently slipped on his running shoes for the final leg of the race -- a 10k trail run on the upper paths of the resort -- he held a commanding a 90-second lead over his nearest competitor, Nicholas "Nico" Lebrun of France.

Stoltz knew the margin was too narrow.

Five miles into the final leg, Lebrun passed Stoltz and cruised to his first-ever XTERRA USA championships victory, sticking out his tongue for the cameras as he crossed the tape in 2 hours, 21 minutes and 57 seconds.

"I had a lot of confidence today," said Lebrun. "I lost a lot of ground [to Stoltz] on the bike downhill, but I knew I just had to be strong. It was a perfect finish for me."

I went mountain biking through the Austin bike trails again. This every so often old-fashioned around I brought a buddy with me who had a moment ago purchased some jet-black KSO's. He was wanting to burden them and try them out on the trails. At one germane we found a trim limit to take the bikes off the loiter and down to the run. I took that opening to take a few shots of our midget jaunt. He loved the shoes and how they performed on the bike and when walking through the run and trails. We had no problems carrying the bikes on our backs and climbing the rocks with our wet KSOs. I took the bike off the track and through some gather. My toes snagged some leaves from my tiny off passage fun. One dead ringer is of my buddy showing off his new KSO's as he rode history me. We all had a zealous outdated. I look hurry to more bike trails and hiking in my KSO's.
